Water Carriers
The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission regulates two water carriers in the state:
- Young Brothers, LLC: Provides intraisland shipping services for cargo and goods.
- Hone Heke Corporation (Expeditions): Operates the passenger ferry service between Maui and Lanai.
The Commission regulates the rates, fees, and tariffs for these companies to ensure fair service and compliance with state law.
Please note that the Commission does not regulate interstate shipping companies such as Pasha Hawaii or Matson.
