Wildfire Mitigation Plans

In Order No, 41033, the PUC required Hawaiian Electric to file a Wildfire Safety Strategy, this is also known as a “Wildfire Mitigation Plan” (WMP). Hawaiian Electric submitted its plan to the PUC January 10, 2025. Docket No. 2025-0156 was opened for the PUC to review Hawaiian Electric’s WMP.

Public Informational Meetings were scheduled April 23 and 24, 2025 for Hawaiian Electric to provide information about its Wildfire Mitigation Plan and future plans to improve grid resilience.

A docket regarding KIUC’s Wildfire Mitigation Plan (also known as Wildfire Safety Strategy) and a public meeting regarding such plan will be forthcoming.
