The State of Hawaii Public Utilities Commission will conduct an IN-PERSON public hearing on August 19, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. on Kauai Island at the Lihue State Office Building regarding Aqua Puhi, LLC, dba Puhi Sewer & Water Company’s (“Puhi S&W”) request for approval of a general rate increase and revisions to its tariff. All are invited to attend the public hearing and state their views on the application or submit comments.

APPLICANT

Puhi S&W is a public utility that provides wastewater collection and treatment services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers in the Lihue and Puhi areas of Kauai. It also supplies non-drinkable water to certain commercial customers, provides R-1 quality recycled water to the Puakea Golf Course, and offers non-regulated septage dumping services to local hauler

The Commission will review Puhi S&W’s requests to determine whether the proposed general rate increase and tariff changes are just and reasonable.

Comments may be submitted in writing or given orally during the hearing. All written comments will be publicly accessible on the PUC’s Case and Document Management System.

    Persons wishing to give oral comments should register at the time of the hearing. Submission of written comments in addition to giving oral comments is highly encouraged.

    Written comments may be submitted before, during, or after the public hearing. All written comments should reference Docket No. 2025-0213 and include the author’s name and the entity or organization that the author represents, if any. Submit written comments via the following methods:

FORMAL PARTICIPATION

Motions to Intervene or Participate in this proceeding shall comply with subchapter 4, Rules of Practice and Procedure Before the Public Utilities Commission, Hawaii Administrative Rules, Title 16, Chapter 601. A motion to intervene or participate in this proceeding shall be filed with the Commission’s Honolulu Office by August 29, 2025.
