ABOUT HAWAII WATER’S APPLICATION

Hawaii Water is a public utility that provides water and wastewater services to approximately 1,500 customers in Kapalua, Maui. On November 12, 2025, Hawaii Water filed an application requesting:

  • A total revenue increase of $2.22 million, or a 59% increase over revenues at current effective rates, which incorporates a rate of return of 7.46% on its rate base.
  • Approval of a Power Cost Charge pass-through
  • A Tax Cuts and Jobs Act tariff sur-credit
  • A Watershed Purchase Rider, which would allow Hawaii Water to directly pass on to customers the cost of water it purchases from the Maui Land and Pineapple watershed.

The Commission will review the company’s request to determine whether the proposed changes are just and reasonable.
