Notice of Public Hearing – Olowalu Water Company, Inc. Rate Increase Request (Docket No. 2025-0409)

The Hawaii Public Utilities Commission will hold a public hearing on March 3, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. at the Lahainaluna High School to receive public input on Olowalu Water Company, Inc.’s (OWC) request for a general rate increase, revised rate schedules and revisions to its tariffs.

ABOUT OLOWALU WATER’S APPLICATION

Olowalu Water Company, Inc. is a public utility authorized to provide potable and non-potable water service in the Olowalu region of West Maui. The company is requesting:

  • A total revenue increase of $879,849, or about 325.5% over total revenues at present rates
  • Increases to potable and non-potable water rates and standby charges
  • Amendments to several tariff rules, including increases to the facility reserve charges, an automatic power cost adjustment charge, and a power cost pass-through rider for the non-potable system.

The Commission will review OWC’s application to determine whether the proposed changes are just and reasonable.
