Natural Hazard Mitigation Reports – Case No. 2023-04661

The PUC’s request for utility natural hazard mitigation plans is currently housed in a non-docketed case, which is primarily used as an information repository and cannot be used for decision-making. These repositories serve as a starting point for the PUC to develop the appropriate scoping for docketed proceedings where decision-making and Party intervention take place.

  • November 21, 2023 — Order No. 40396, directing all Commission-regulated electric, gas, telecom, and water and/or wastewater utilities to file a report detailing their ongoing efforts and future mitigation plans to address natural hazards as they relate to their provision of utility service, capital expenditures, operations, and/or finances.
  • March 19, 224 — Order No. 40669, extending the deadline for all public utilities to file their mitigation plans to August 21, 2024.
  • September 13, 2024 — Order No. 41033, providing guidelines regarding Hawaiian Electric’s Wildfire Safety Strategy
